Get to know me

(and maybe read my resume)

My name is Haley Wakefield.
I'm a designer, a painter, an NFL saxophone player, and an Animal Crossing savant. I love to get lost in foreign cities and play volleyball in the sunshine.
Everything has an interface.
Everything. Your phone (obviously), but also your toaster, the bus, even your front door. Understanding how people interact with everyday interfaces can inform us how to design digital ones—interfaces that come as naturally to the user as making toast in the morning.
For 5 years I worked as a Senior UI/UX Designer, plus an extra 12 years of freelance illustration and design. I've developed multimedia solutions for dozens of institutions around the country, including VR experiences in partnership with Oculus and multi-player video games for the Smithsonian. I love to create across a wide spectrum of visual media: designing games, illustrating comics, painting book covers, and anything I can get my hands on.
For fear of over-explaining, I'll let my work speak for itself. You can download my resume below. Thanks for looking.
